A Christmas story..

We hope you enjoy the new “Christmas Tree” on Strand Drive.

Once upon a time, back in the summer of 2019, a batch of new Photinia trees were being planted around the development. Most were delivered in the specified lollipop shape, but one poor reject came in a conical form deemed unsuitable to adorn the borders between Earls and Farringdon. It seemed destined for the compost heap.

But wait, Norma Erskine had a vision. The unwanted tree was planted in the gardens near the recycling facility. She watered it and tended it throughout the hot summer of 2019 until its fragile roots had become established. The gardening crew from Greenmantle looked after it, carefully pruning and clipping to maintain and enhance its promising Christmas tree shape.

Now in the winter of 2020, a tough year by anyone’s standards, the unwanted tree’s moment has come. A safety compliant electrical supply has been installed on the nearby lamp post and the tree has been adorned with beautiful Christmas lights. It now stands resplendent at its sparkling best, ready to welcome residents and guests to our home and suggesting a better time to come for all.

Merry Christmas boys and girls.
