Let there be light.

You may have noticed that the entrance to Strand Drive is much better illuminated now. For some time the existing lamp posts have been malfunctioning. Attempts to repair them have failed so the decision was taken to replace the heads with new LED lamps. The intention was to do the three problem ones first, as a trial run for converting all the lamps to LED. As you know LED lights use much less electricity and are better for the planet. I hope you will agree that the entrance road is now much more welcoming and safer for pedestrians. Based on these results, a phased upgrade of all the estate lights is now planned.

PBM are aware that there are more lamp posts and bollards that are not working at present. A qualified electrician has already spent time attempting to repair them but some of the problems are due to faulty or obsolete parts. Another day of investigative work is planned for Thursday 26th November. We have a contingency plan to accelerate the work to replace the existing halogen lights with new LED. Apologies for the delay in sorting this problem out.
