Spring Gold

Our team of resident volunteer gardeners have been busy during September and October planting over 2,000 spring daffodil bulbs. These are located throughout the estate. The team selected two specific varieties. “February Gold” blooms early in the year, in fact you might be able to see a few starting to come through already. “Sir Winston Churchill” blooms slightly later, around Easter. It is a paler yellow but a pretty, double flowered variety, and beautifully scented. They are planted in large groups along the rear of the gardens, some on the banks and some in the flower beds where they can catch the early spring sunshine. The bulbs have been positioned to have maximum impact when seen from your windows. Many thanks to gardeners Michael and Carolyn Tonkin, Norma Erskine, Anne Gardener, and John and Marisol Oxley.
